BTL promises…

CEO’s ask me all the time, before they engage the BTL team, how we justify our cost. They want to know how they’ll measure our impact and when the results will start showing up on the bottom line. I don’t give them an answer they like. I promise them that there is NO quantitative measure we can tie to our work. We cannot take credit for numbers.

Here’s what I promise.

Here’s what the BTL builder’s and I always deliver. I promise the CEO some of his good people will leave. People will “wake up” and decide “this work” is not for them. These people will self select out. I also promise the head of the system that some leaders will wake up and ask people to leave. People these leaders have been tolerating for far too long will suddenly become intolerable. People will get fired as a result of engaging us. Sound good so far?

And, a few people will “fire up” and become 100% sold out to their leader, to their team, to their calling, and to their cause. A select few will become souls on fire. These select few will perform with passion and excellence beyond their previous boundaries. These souls will change the world they touch and light others on fire. BTL will get into these individuals DNA and change the collective DNA of the team. Here’s the problem. This process requires practice, practice, practice and loads of time. And, we cannot predict who turns up, who turns out, and how long each takes.

How much is that worth?

Oh yeah, one other promise I keep. I always tell every new client they are entering a construction zone like none other. BTL practice will push them and piss them off. They are gonna find their personal and collective panic zone on the way to increasing their performance. This will cause acute pain few leaders self select much less let somebody else supply. So, if you, dear reader, are convinced America’s next generation of leaders has all gone south; think again.

BTL’s clients are proof positive there are still some leaders worth your committed best. The BTL band remains grateful for these few, their trust, and their willingness to invest in building something beyond just their bank accounts. At BTL we make few promises. I feel good, however, about our ability to deliver on these.

What promises are you making to your market?

Are you feeling good about keeping the promises your business is bringing?

Are you keeping yours?

Tell me more, my friend. Tell me more…
