Krits kool…

Krits held her glass of wine as we talked and looked composed, calm, and optimistic. She was at the home of one of my clinets, yet appeared as if she was hanging at home with Penny. Krits, you see, is comfortable in her own skin. She isn’t easily phased or thrown off kilter by people’s position, prominence, or power over her. Yes, I’m a little bit biased and a little impressed with our only daughter’s ease with which shes entered the world of work. Very cool.

Last night we had a business dinner that felt like a family function – they all do with me btw. We played ping pong, some kinda virtual golf, and engaged in adult conversation with other adults and young adults too. She was at ease even when she wasn’t. I mean, she did take an eleven on the 3rd hole at Pebble subbing in for me :). As a leader you could take a few pointers from young Krits…

Your team is always watching you. They want to see you composed, calm, consistent, and, of course, optimistic. If this isn’t coming to you easily, remember, your best bet is to build your CORE. The stronger your core, the more easily you operate outside your comfort zone, at a dinner party with your bosses, bosses, boss, and even when you are invited to participate in an activity which you’ve built up next to no expertise. Good.

Leaders are required to encounter lots of new along their way. The ones we follow, do it with relative ease – or so it seems. The key, again, comes from within. You don’t have time to build up expertise in every area so you, my leader, had better get busy building within. Someday, you too may be some kinda Krits kool. Good…

  1. always enjoy reading about your kids, we are all so proud of their accomplishments and of our own, and I find it quite endearing that you are open to see their strengths and to share them with your readers. And of course, we love the miss kristy!

  2. Thanks, Chris for taking the time to comment on Krits and for your support for all our kids over the years. You and that Peteboy are good friends…
