Good…

Today, during one on one practice, my client and I began with embracing the acute pain and enjoying the gift of movement. We have been through a good deal together, he reminded me. We’ve been practicing for 3.25 years. “You and I just see the world totally different but we’re becoming closer,” he began matter of factly.

In what way, I asked.

“Our language. Our worldview. We’re beginning to know each other, ” he said with a smile. He smiled with a sincere satisfaction. “As a result,” he continued, “our practices are more honest.” “You’ve been honest since day one,” he exclaimed. I have to admit I love hearing my clients referring to me as a truth teller. I asked my client to tell me more about how he thinks we see the world so differently. Without any hesitation he said, “the biggest way we see the world differently is around your belief in God. And, the strength in your belief. Your strong belief in things happen for a reason.”

I played back what I heard. I heard my client tell me that he wants that kinda beleif. He smiled and agreed. We have been through a number of battles together. We’ve not always agreed. We’ve become stronger and closer as a result. Today was an easy practice with this client. Tomorrow, maybe not. We’ve come to appreciate and expect both. We’re becoming distinct and deeply connected. It is good.

How ’bout you and your team? Are you becoming one, distinct, deeply connected, and BTL? Or, are you settling for something less because it’s somewhat easier? Are you avoiding the tough topics or mining for more? Are you making each other do what you can from belief or frustration? Are you becoming more comfortable in your own skin and enabling those around you to do likewise?
