Today, during practice 151 with the k-diva’s, k-dev’s, and even a young kenny from outside the circle, we were reminded of the great gift of practice. We had a front row seat to pure Joy. Practice began when Dantheman asked to hear from none other than Joy. You see, Joy’s last practice was this one. Bitter. Sweet. Joy.
Joy shared her journal writing, shed a few tears, and showed us what it looks like when a Butterfly readies herself for flight. You see, we’ve seen Joy transform from uncertain to convicted, confident, and competent. And, we’ve enjoyed seeing her sassy side too. Joy is a beauty with a bold streak too. She removed the mask and has inspired residents and teammates to do likewise. We will miss Joy. Good.
Seasons change. Fall is here. Joy is going home. And, sometime very soon, she’ll bring her new baby into this world. Her baby will probably be one of the first toddlers at some pre-school a few years from now to introduce playmates to this crazy thing called “seven good minutes.” Thanks, Joyful, for sharing your heart in practice 151. Thanks for your kind note. And, most of all, thanks for modeling the way for all of us to see. k-dev is joy filled because of energetic souls such as you. We won’t be joy less without you, but we certainly won’t be as Joyful. There’s only one Joyful.
God bless you, Joy. It will be good…
