Miss and I first visited the Pho 25 some years ago while on one of many CompuServe President’s trips. It was love at first sight. Tonight, as we fly back to our frigid home we are warmed by more great memories at the Pho. Places matter, you know. And, the Pho is one of Miss and my special places. Our home is another one. We’re gonna love cuddling up in front of the fire with our dogs upon our return. Simple. Perfect. Place.
This trip I asked Krits and her friends to recall their favorite childhood memory while we shared breakfast on the Pho patio one morning. Cam loved when they had a small house fire and all had to huddle up in her brothers room for the night. She said it felt like they were in a fort and it was magic to be in such close quarters. Alyssa and Sarah recalled a family trip to Wichita where they hung out with cousins in close quarters too. Krits remember playing kick the can with all the neighbor kids (and me) in our front and back yard all through her childhood, hot, summers nights. Kick the can in the yard. Simple. Perfect. Place.
So, the Pho was magic again this trip. We made great memories. You and I don’t have to go all out at the Pho, however, to sear our loved ones. We’ve just got to create something simple, something real, and make the place something cozy. Good…
