Dragging ass, drugs, distraction, and done so…

Where do you turn when life/work sends you a bullshit sandwich? Too many normal humans turn to other dragging asses, drugs, or settle for distraction on their way to destination “disillusion.” You cannot control if the other humans you reach out to will energize you or further depress. You know drugs aren’t the answer as they’ll only offer a temporary high on their best dose. Now distraction, that’s a whole ‘nother element all it’s own. Grab your iPhone and sign up to “scroll through the shit.” I mean come on man, Instagram, Facebook, snapchat, the Twitter, and YouTube offer you endless options. When they fail to take your mind off your sandwich, you can binge watch Hulu, netflicks, or go all Amazon prime on yo’self. Yeah, baby. The world we live in is living on this bullshit, isn’t it.

Or, you can choose better.

You can choose to work within on your CORE and get busy getting better. You can get busy working on building your capacity to do your work. You do have a job to do, don’t you? Ever thought about investing your free time building your competence, friend? Here’s the mental health model, again, for dealing with the inevitable bullshit sandwiches of life. Focus on what you can control. Work within and work on your work. You have 100% control of this and your mindset will improve when you do. This isn’t delusional. This is the real life anti-depressant that doesn’t require a pill. Make this mindset your habitual “done so.”

Today, I offered another client what they needed – not what they told me they wanted. Good. Pascal was right. “Distraction is the only thing that consoles us for our miseries, and yet it is itself the greatest of our miseries.” Keep working, friend. Keep working. Good…

  1. Mind Set, you read about athletes who have failed, been cut from teams early in their careers and in the face of this adversity they begin to understand that it’s not a skill or training that failed them but their Mind Set, the habitual thoughts they fill their minds with each day…….Fixed or growth Mind Set…….broaden and build on that Growth Mind Set…..it will serve you well!
