Humans don’t hear well when hurting and most humans are hurting most of the time. This I believe. Yesterday, I behaved accordingly. Listened to an injured athlete. Did little instructing. Mostly reminded. Took only a few minutes. The athlete walked away feeling better. Me too.
Today, remember this truth. You have a lot of wounded souls leading your teams. You have lots of wounded teammates serving your customers. Slow down. Be with. Listen. Remind them. Mostly remind them of who they are, why they’re here, and what they can do now. Very ccd. Baby step. Believe. Leaders are believers. Leaders are connectors too. You’ve been reminded.
