Feel…

I believe we are meant to feel life. You cannot think your way to excellence. You’ve got to develop a feel for the game, whatever it is, if your aim is mastery. People are often kind and complimentary after a team practice where (they inform me after the fact) it appeared as if I knew where to take us before the moment arrived. This is not luck or freakin’ magic although it feels like both. This is informed intuition. Takes years of deliberate practice. Preparation is required. Trusting your game enough to go off script. Loving the opportunity more than fearing the outcome.

I see this in almost everyone of my clients. They have developed an elite feel for their game. Hard to teach.

Feel life, friends. It won’t always feel good. You won’t always make the right call. You will, however, more often than not. Watch reruns of sprint stages of The Tour de France. Study the greatest sprinters. There’s no time to think. Everyone is going 40 mph +. One dude picks the right wheel. One dude picks the right moment. One dude picks the right hole and rips through it. One dude picks right. Seemingly, one dude is stronger. All sprinters are super strong. Consistent winners, feel it. Trust it. Get out of their head. They don’t think. They throw the bike at the moment of truth. You?

Live hard. Love harder. Feel it…
