Competence breeds true confidence. The more you sense (accurately, I might add) your abilities, the more likely you are to see challenge when facing something hard. Most humans underestimate their capacity. They see challenge and overestimate it, especially when tired. Fact.
The BTL recipe is simple, not easy.
Build competence within and toward your aim. Strong CORE. Authentic OPUS. The discipline for baby stepping comes when we’re clear within and with our aim. Once clear, pick a target just out of reach. Tell yourself you are testing your abilities, not facing death. Embrace fail as you do hard things. Evaluate your attempt. Reflect. Seek truth from the work and your truth tellers. Reach again.
Pick a target. Reach. Fail. Learn. Reach again. Fail. Learn. Reach again. Achieve (build competence). Level up. Pick another target. Rinse and repeat. Kinda like happiness, confidence is a great outcome but a horrible aim. Build competence and confidence comes along for the ride. What’s a worthy target? LFG, friend.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder. Do hard things…
