Anding…

Leading well requires a lot of “anding.” Let me explain, briefly.

Leading requires tough and tender.

Leading requires marrying the mundane and trying new things.

Leading require solitary disciplines and collaboration with colleagues, competitors, and creatures unlike you.

Leading requires “My way IS the highway and the humility of Curious George.

Leading requires truth in Love and keeping the right secrets.

Leading requires building a system with structure and order and knowing exactly when/where to break the rules.

Leading is art and science.

Leading requires we love the work and love the team.

Leading requires we love our work and our life. It’s really all about the anding, isn’t it?

And, as leaders, we tend toward one over the other. So, leader, lean against your tendencies and find your few who possess complimentary skills. In essence, build oneness but not sameness. One, distinct and deeply connected, BBTL. Simple, not easy. Good.
