No ordinary band…

BTL is a band.

We are no ordinary band. We do not build houses, although we build homes. We do not build businesses bigger, although businesses are better when built by us. We do not build sports teams faster, stronger, or more endurable, although when they become BTL, they become that and so much more. We are no ordinary band of builders. Fact.

When you engage with BTL, you engage with a team of Builders who sat in your seat. We are not former HR professionals. We are not philosophy majors. We are not dudes in between gigs doing the consulting thing for awhile. We are not speakers, authors, and intellects who build you as some form of side hustle. We are masters of our craft and deeply believe in our calling. We are builders. We’re here to build you into you. Simple, not easy.

Every BTL Builder is a former client who fell in love with building humans as they became BTL. The only exception is my son, Taylor. He fell in love with BTL while interning beside me back in 2014. He is the lone exception to the rule. Every other Builder was a client first, Builder by choice – their choice, not mine. None have been recruited. None are a revenue source for me. None are a multiple maker. None are a tool. All are my friends. Some, my few. Damn.

We are a coalition and it makes no cents. Perfect sense to me. I do not write here to sell your sorriness on our service. Quite the opposite. I write here to further master my craft. I write to remind myself, family, friends, clients, and fellow Builders, of my recent learning. I write for myself mostly. I write because the pen is more powerful than the sword. I keep that tool mostly in the sheath. Fact.

God, help our band be wild and wildly responsible. God, help us not settle for simply making cents. God, help these brothers and sisters of mine realize the magnitude of this gift and pass it along long after I’m gone. God, thank you for each and every one of them. God, give us uncommon strength, wisdom, and courage. God, give us uncommon Love. God, help us all.

Live hard. Love harder…
