Took this picture from our home yesterday. You can set your clocks by these deer coming out to graze in their golden hour. There is a great leadership lesson here. The leader is staring at me. She’s tuned in like an animal being stalked.
Because she is.
Leader, your job is to develop your tuneage as you care for your flock. Let them eat first. Tune in to what isn’t said. Smell the fear behind the smile. Feel their instability before they fall. Listen to them and for them. Guide them by word, tone, and deed. Remember, great leaders listen, listen, listen, and then teach a little bit here and there. We, their followers, mostly think it’s our own idea. Tune in. Like an animal being stalked.
