You expect to aggregate marginal gains through the discipline of domain specific training. You slowly build soccer skills through good coaching, tough teammates, and worthy competition. You learn to lead the same way. You learn with deliberate practice, good coaching, and marrying the mundane day in and day out. The world lacks great leaders because few have the humility to be built to lead, few have the willingness to be coachable, and few believe they have more to learn.
