Let’s go back to 9/11. Firemen working below the strike zone in both towers found the corner offices filled with frozen leaders. The leader was statue like seated in their high back, leather chair. Remember, when overwhelmed with the unthinkable we tend toward fight, flight, or freeze. The higher up you go, the more likely you freeze. Fact. Study it.
So, when a firefighter encountered “The man,” what would you guess was their approach?
It was not gentle. The firefighter simply went up to the frozen leader and shoved him the hell out of his slumber. Knocked him to the floor. Once removed from his stuper, the ccd fireman told him to get the F$%^ out. There was not time for bullshit. No time for setting the table. No time to socialize it. WTF. Get the hell out. CCD.
Remember this when facing your overwhelming moments. Fight the tendency to freeze. Stop delaying. Make decisions. Move. Course correct. And, be ccd with those around you, especially those frozen in fear.
Live hard. Love harder…
