Bone dry…

Our world is drowning in a sea of information. Wisdom? Bone dry.

The ancients taught us, eight hundred years before Christ, beware the Sirens song. Odysseus had the wisdom to plug his sailors ears and have them bind him to the mast. He chose wisely.

Today we are free to do as we please and most of us can’t resist the simplest of impulses. Porn. Tik tok. Instagram. Text. Tweet. Weed. Adderal. Anti-depressant. Pick your pill. Pick your poison.

The Sirens of today we rarely see or hear. We’re wrecked by their written words or emoji’s. AI, like all technology, is a two edged sword. We are drowning in data. Depressed. Distracted. Desperate for truth.

Here’s ancient truth. You, friend, are happiest when committed and focused, not doom scrolling and distracted. You are most satisfied when resisting impulse. Pleasure is fleeting. Joy fulfilling. You, most likely, know this. You’ve been reminded. You and I need reminders. Fact.

Drowning & bone dry.

Committed, calm, & singing your song.

You choose. Your choices have consequences. Same as ever. Damn.

Live hard. Love harder…

  1. Thank you for the reminder. A day at The Masters is a gift in so many ways. Enjoyed a day of this bliss yesterday that was aided by the “no cell phone policy”. Felt freedom in being detached from it for the day!
