9/11 a day we’ll never forget. I’ll never forget the call I got that early morning from an old CompuServe colleague who had recently left to take a great job leading sales at Akamai. He called me “Boss” as he always did and still does. Sounded different that morning. Very different.
“Boss, I was supposed to be on that flight,” he began to tell me his voice shaking with emotion. American Airlines flight 11 to be exact. His CEO and a few other C suite executives were on the flight. Soup should have been. Typical Soup, he began to think better of it earlier that weekend. Wasn’t sure they were as prepared as he wanted so he decides to fly out to California a few days early and make sure the team is ready for the big visit that Tuesday. He’s alive and well today as CSO of Equinix.
We’re all hanging by a thread.
