Recently, a client reminded me of a conversation we had with his right hand dude a few years back. We had been talking about a teammate of theirs I didn’t trust. My client recalled me sharing I don’t believe people’s words very often. His right hand dude responded – you’ve got trust issues, Chet.

I believe people’s actions speak truth loudly. The wise leader listens for the consistency of their actions, not their words. Actions, as we know, speak louder than words. I trust the man or woman who does what they say they will do. I trust the teammate who is ccd. Truth takes few words. Bullshit artists talk a lot, say very little. Fact.
Your job, leader, is to bathe in truth. Do not become enamored with the well spoken. Trust actions. Consistent actions. Simple, not easy.
