Today, we introduced a newbie to BTL team practice. He did great. Off to a great start. The key, of course, will come down to how he finishes. We oftentimes start strong, lose our way somewhere in the mediocre middle, and call it quits well before the finish line.
Quality lives begin with the end in mind, thanks Steven Covey. Quality lives embrace this truth – Life is difficult, thanks M. Scott Peck. And quality lives require integration. Compartmentalization eventually loses its luster, thanks Chateaubriand for being so damn romantic, you know.
You must learn a lot to move from turning pro to becoming a master in the art of living. Masters integrate work and life.
Masters are constantly realigning. They understand becoming CORE centered and OPUS focused is THE infinite game. Masters understand it’s not about what others think. It must become their way, not simply a way of pleasing/placating others. You cannot live well wondering if the audience will applaud, thanks Bob Dylan. Your job, reader, is to FIO (figure it out). Simple, not easy.
For me, that means constant reminders that I play for the audience of one – and the one ain’t me. God, help me remember it’s not about me. God, help me build a better nature, a second one. God, help me. Great practice 109, Quinn. You gave me courage today. You gave some to the Watchman and others too. You played well. Many did. Thanks for showing up ready to play. Can’t wait to see all your productive actions when we congregate for 110. I smell some Kit Carson kinda mindset building. Good (Thanks Navy SEALs).
Live hard. Love harder…
