Every team, if it’s to perform at its peak, needs role players. In fact, every team is a compilation of role players. The CEO, Head Coach, or Captain is a role player. Fact.
Back in the early Church, the Apostles were filled with fear. Christ had been crucified and the disciples were a wanted band – in the worst of ways. So, when Paul tried to join ‘em, they gave him the Heisman. All but one, that is. Barnabas, an Levite from Cyprus, “sat with him.” Freakin’ magic for Paul and the future of the Church.
Barnabas was not his given name. His given name was James. Upon joining the band, the apostles renamed him Barnabas – which means “son of encouragement.” When Paul came knocking, he lived his new identity. Barnabas was a great courage giver. Freakin’ magic.
Every band needs someone in this role.
For the BTL band it’s none other than Peteboy. He’s been with us from the very beginning. He was our first client back in 2002 and joined us a few years later as a Builder. He’s been an encouragement to me and every, single member of the band. He’s our welcomer and breath of positivity when we most need it.
Who, friend, is your Barnabas? Are you playing to their strengths or plying them to fit in? Great teams have great players in every role. Thanks, Petey, for being the Barnabas in our band. Appreciate you, my friend.
Live hard. Love harder…

Thank you Chet for those kind words of encouragement! You have been my Barnabas from the first day we met and a constant source of inspiration.
We are so lucky to be surrounded with great BTL teammates who not only lift us up, they ‘re our Tuthtellers! Truth and Love, the path to building transformational relationships.
keep modeling the truth you offer everyday….Live Hard Love Harder!
