Here’s truth. I am not tough. I am not an athlete. I am not a motivational speaker. I am not a genius at anything. I am, however, really solid at one thing. I am a truth teller. I am paid to speak truth to those who are accustomed to being lied to (leaders).
Today, I reminded a client she doesn’t need to be tougher – just truer. She has been learning to soft pedal, tread lightly, wordsmith stuff, and socialize things. In other words? She’s a bullshit artist. So, likely, are you.
The truth will not harm her teammate. It may hurt, briefly. It will set both parties free, eventually. You need to be truer friend. Slow down. Reflect. Where are you dancing instead of being direct? Why?
Live hard. Love harder. Be truer…
