Twenty five years ago I made the trip to Pebble Beach for the fourth time. This week we made it there for the fifth. Was so special to celebrate Jordy’s Fore – tee with family and friends. Will not forget it. Kairos moments were everywhere. And, just as all of life eventually, it was bitter and sweet.
You see, before playing our first round on Thursday we were greeted with such sad news – our beloved grand pup, Penny, had died suddenly. She was staying with her other grandparents so Josh and Krit could come celebrate with us. We were stunned and deeply saddened. She was the sweetest pup in the history of pups (yes, I’m biased). Ask anyone that knew her and you’ll hear a similar refrain – she was Penny Lane – one look at her and your mood was sure to improve. So, friend, embrace the poison and wine of life. Savor the sweet stuff and take nothing for granted. We are here but a brief minute. Take it in. Accept that to love anything is to be vulnerable. Love, anyway. Great trip Krit, Josh, Miss, Jordy, Pauwlina, Nolan, ARon, Arti, Timmytwoscoops, Amanda, Meegan, and Bobbybooshay. Thanks for making the effort to be with Jordy as he turned 40. We’re already anticipating our return trip for the ultimate Septuagint celebration, The Lord willing.

Live hard. Love harder. Much harder…
