I’m not officially a member of the OSU womens soccer team. This falls in the “no da” category. However, I feel like I am. When they win, I feel just a little bit better. When they lose? I feel it. Stings. Hurts, you know.
Yesterday, my team lost to Wake Forest – I don’t like them at all. They took something from my team and it hurt me to watch number 35 make a great shot (I think she’s a dirty player too), yes, I’m biased. I rode the Peloton bike through nearly the entire game – camaraderie of suffering, you know. OSU played without two of their top players. One was in the concussion protocol and the other got her eye’s nearly poked from their socket on one helluva header goal. This team was and is amazing. Loaded with character and competence. Filled with good fire. They made their mark in the sweet sixteen. Next year, I predict, they’ll go deeper. For now, we’ll just suffer with thoughts of what could have been. We’ll enjoy the great growth and lament what could have been. Sports.
What, leader, is your most precious? Are you building your team into a team of humble warriors? Does your team know how much you believe in them and believe them? Are you willing to do hard things with them? Slow down and reflect. My favorite soccer team in the world just lost. I’m not taking it well. In fact, I’m taking it kinda personally. Good.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
