During another one on one practice with a long standing client, clarity arrived. We had been chewing on a difficult problem for what seemed like months. As we got into practice, again, this raised it’s ugly head. We’d talked it through for many practices with no clear answer. Suddenly we had clarity. It seemed to appear out of nowhere. It did NOT.
Clarity is the obsession of the leader. You can be wrong and the team will forgive you. You cannot be unclear. Clarity is non-linear, like so many things. You work and work and work. You experiment. You play. You know somethings could be better, just not sure how to make them so. You keep learning. Keep working it. Suddenly, out of the blue, it arrives.
Insight.
Want more innovation, creativity, and insights into your work? Keep obsessing over the little things. Keep working the problem. Don’t do it alone. Engage other minds, especially those wired unlike you. Clarity is the obsession of the leader because clarity is the catalyst for productive action. Damn.
