Focus, athletes, on “the controllables.” Hear this all the time. See it rarely. What are the controllables? 

Effort. Full thrust is a must for excellence. 

Nutrition. Figure out what your body needs and feed it. Eat food. Simple, not easy.

Recovery. Full thrust is a must and so is zone 2. Mix it up. All redline, all the time, is not the recipe. Learn to listen to your body. Massage chair is my go to. 

Rest. GTB (Go to bed). Eliminate screens two hours before your head hits pillow. CBD and magnesium, thanks Miss. 

Mindset. Your mind is your governor. Stop listening. Talk back to the drunk in your head. Build a strong CORE. Trust it. Your mantras matter. Trust ’em. Excellence is a process. You are too. Trust the process. Remember, a growth mindset’s highest aim is learning. Yours?

These are your controllables. Focus here. Do you see where your attention is elsewhere? We all have blindspots. Ask a truth teller for help. The controllables are all you got. Letting your mind go anywhere else is dumbASS. Don’t be a dumbASS, instead, be a BadASS.
