Pray for it…

I’ve been feeling a few negative emotions lately. A few more than normal. One of our children is struggling mightily. Mom is down. Her body is betraying her – spirit is losing hope. My body and mind are strong; my skin aint holding it together at all. As I reflected on my morning devotional recently, it hit me this is a typically human first response. What, I wonder, is a virtuous second response?

Pray.

Pray without ceasing. Pray in the good with gratitude and humility. Pray in the storm for strength and courage. Pray. What, friend, is your second response?

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder. Pray for it…

  1. ‘Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.’ Psalm 37

Easy to say, hard to do. After 67 years, I still suck at it.

Good to remember, He loves Marie, your son, and even you(!) more than you ever could. Instead of good hands, you’re in His perfect hands.

Another good reminder from Paul: don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything…

My BTL invitation and my AND is the stronger your CORE the stronger and clearer and aligned and comprehensive and deep your prayer life will become.

Not just in what/who you are praying for and why, but to whom you are praying, and praying for what matters most.

I personally had a highlight of client practice long-time prayers answered this week — while also being dropped to my knees with gut punches below the belt.

Prayer is both personal and relational. Which also means when you learn (as I did at the age of 30-something) to pray with others who knew how to pray and who they were praying to better than I did — my prayers became more effective.

        And confident.
