A couple nights ago Miss and I got high.
Naturally.
She had fallen asleep on the couch and, when she came to bed a few minutes later, I made some stupid comment that provoked her silly bone. She laughed. Really laughed. I was too tired, I thought, and couldn’t participate in her moment of humor.
Wrong.
As she continued to giggle, I found myself smiling and laughing along. Five to ten minutes of giggling ensued and then back to sleepy time we went. Here’s the really funny part. We were both naturally high right before we fell back to sleep. Whenever you really smile (think Duchenne), really laugh, and especially when you cause someone else to laugh or smile, your brain is flooded with dopamine. Dopamine is your very own opiate. Dopamine is a natural high.
Today, tonight, and every chance you get, smile and laugh with those you LOVE. Your emotions are contagious, remember.
Are yours worth catching?
Who knew, giggling could change your mind and the minds of those that you LOVE. God knows. Funny, huh.
Live hard. LOVE harder…
