Last Sunday Miss and I went to a tiny church in Napa Valley. Gilbert was the guest preacher from Fresno. He taught us well. He reminded us of the value of our name. Gave us a history lesson on the very old school approach of ancient Israel and how they trained their young. It was a challenging reminder. Can you imagine what life would be like if our schools taught our young people to memorize The Torah by age six. The entire Old Testament by age 10. Then by age 14 they were taught how to think, debate, and learn from those much older and much different then themselves. Gilbert left us with much to ponder about our place as parents and grandparents in the proper raising of our young. I for one appreciated his Scottish simplicity.
What makes you think, friend? What media are you marinating in? What brings you a peace that is beyond understanding?
Live hard. Love harder…

Find the road less traveled. Take it. Bring others along. Damn…
