News…

Bad news, as the cliche goes, travels fast. We know this. We are wired to remember the negative more readily than the positive. Fact.

This week, I reminded more than one leader to spread more good news. Their system has a ton of good going on. They have much less bad news. Yet, the rumor mill is filled with an abundance of catastrophic bullshit. So, I told a story to drive home the point.

I actually started with a solid question. “What would you think of The Bible, if we took out The Gospels?” Not much, was the response. You see, friend, the gospels are the ultimate (I believe) good news. The reason Christianity is still spreading rapidly is because it is goodfreakin’news. Good news can, in fact, spread quickly, especially if it’s rooted in truth.

This system has an abundance of great, BIG news. The leaders are not spreading it fast enough. They are assuming everyone knows about it and it doesn’t need it to be rebroadcast, if you will.

It does.

Remember this hard truth. Humans are hurting. And, hurting humans do NOT hear well. They need reminders. Lots and lots of reminders. So, leader, are you broadcasting good news rooted in truth? If you are, congrats. Broadcast more of it. If you are not, start today. Your team loves good news. It too will travel fast once they believe it. Damn.

Live hard. Love harder. You’ve been reminded…
