Loathe to love…

Back in high school I loathed core work. Half assed it at best. Got away with it too, at least for awhile.

Fast forward to 2008. Diagnosed with arthritis in my left hip. Ortho gave me the BIG needle and said come back when you can’t take the pain. We’ll replace the bad boy. My response?

No bueno.

Miss and I began to do our homework. Littlest joined. August 1, 2010 core work began. Littlest, me and a pull up bar. 30 minutes Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. Sucked. Hurt. Stuck to it. Held out hope. By mid 2012 the pain was gone. Muy bueno. Still doing the work (keep making it harder). It’s the end of 2025 and my joints are pain free. No hip replacements. No nothing. Just acute pain to eradicate the chronic. Turned a loathe to into a love to.

Today?

I LOVE doing core work. Freakin’ love it. Look forward to the alarm clock going off a little after 5bells and getting after it. Now it’s mostly 45-60 minutes. Why? ‘Cause I love it.

What, friend, do you loathe about your craft? Write a version 1.0 to turn it into a love to. Imagine it. Play with it. Who knows. Maybe, just maybe you too can transform loathe to love. Talk about a victory over self. Damn.

Live hard. Love harder…
