“Don’t you know you are a shooting star. And all the world will love you just as long as you are.”
These words comprise the melody line to Bad Company’s epic song titled by the same name. What is a shooting star? By definition, “one resembling a shooting star especially in sudden and temporary brilliance.” Damn.
You and I are shooting stars on our best days. We have moments of freakin’ magic. It’s temporary. And, as the song portends, the world only loves us when we’re the star. Think Ryan Day, Buckeye Nation. Buckeye Nation loves him now. Loathed him just a year ago. Your world is no different. Most of your fans are only loving on you because of who they think you are. Do not buy their bullshit.
We’re all shooting stars…
Do not look to the world to validate your worth. You will come up lacking (most days) and when you’re on, woefully dependent on the fickle nature of the world.
Our creator did NOT make a mistake when creating you. Our creator created a masterpiece named you. It’s up to you to figure out how to become the CEO of Y.O.U. Last night I reminded a beautiful soul that he is more than enough. He’s a beautiful being. A star. And, just like me, he’s going to burn out bright. This is the design. Embrace your fragility and mortality. Live accordingly. We’re all shooting stars. Damn.
Live hard. Love harder…

Not much to look at, huh…
