Zen and…

JimmyTHEgant gave me a short book titled Zen And The Art of Archery. I thought I had read it years ago. Upon opening a few days ago, there was none of my writing present. Translation. I had not read.

So, I decided this would be my first read of 2026.

You see, less than halfway through 2025 I made a decision to only read The Bible for the rest of 2025. Freakin’ magic for me. Learned so much. Transformed my mind. Still much deep change ahead. Thank you, Jesus, we’re never done. Damn.

This morning I’m sharing my writing from page 81 of JimmyTHEgant’s Zen gift. My habit is read a page and throw up on paper whatever is in me. This isn’t edited. Good…

The Japanese way. Cook rice. Remember, Chet, talk does not cook rice. A new alertness to the senses is required to anticipate the move of the opponent before it occurs. This takes deliberate practice too. Amazing truth. The practice of the fundamentals is the key to life. Keep working, Chet, you have still much to learn to master this great art of living, much less the art of building yourself and others. Keep working. Stop focusing on the outcome. Marry the mundane. Master the craft. Lose yourself in service to God and those he placed in your path. Start with Mom, Miss, and move out from there. Do not lose patience or hope. Every family member is one of your loved ones. Be with. Be patient. Give more than you take. Give more. Every client deserves full presence and full throttle without expectation of excellence. Stop keeping score, so to speak. Pour out and allow God to fill up. Stop expecting praise for performance. Give and let it go. Much to learn. Much to be thankful for. Grateful for JimmyTHEgant and this book.
