The number one influence in your life…

Remember, you and I cannot take others further than we’ve taken ourselves. Focus on becoming the number one influence in your life. Nobody can take this opportunity and responsibility from you. You are on the hook to lead you.

Sadly, leader, your positional leadership can be taken from you through no fault of your own. Positional leadership is always precarious, it’s both a gift and curse. Today, we see an unprecedented failure of nerve in the world of work. We sabotage our leaders from above, below, and beside. We attack leaders for our feelings, forgetting it’s their job to make us uncomfortable.

So, leaders, do not get comfortable in your perch. Keep doing the work within and building an ever stronger sense of self. Be hard on self without getting down on self. Expect your hard work within to go mostly unnoticed by others. You are not doing this work for others to see. You do the work within so you are prepared for the storms and adversity coming your way. You do the work so your greatest leadership challenge, influencing you, is a closed case. Your greatest leadership challenge is leading yourself through the trials and tribulations, especially the ones that nefariously arrive through no fault of your own. Preparation. Preparation. Preparation (Thanks, JimmyTHEgant). Damn.

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…

  1. One of my top ten favorite posts of all-time. Read it. Read it. Read it. Leaders are repeaters.

Leader, can you hear this? Can you hear this? Can you hear this? I KNOW this – – – If you are not humble enough – – – these words will fall upon deaf ears and blind eyes.

The heart of leadership is the heart of the leader – – – This is my number one leadership mantra. Thank you, Bill Lawrence

Yes, keep working! Do the work! The hard work. NOW.

    Prepare. Prepare…Prepare!

We practice over and over and over, again – – – in order for us to be exactly who we are in a time of crisis, in an unforeseen storm that hits our team, our family or ourselves.

    CORE-centered/self-controlling…OR…SELF-centered/others controlling.

    Choose, leader.

There are long-term and deep reaching ramifications for your choice. In the military we call this 2nd, 3rd and 4th order of impacts.

    Choose.

Together we Transform – – – always, ALWAYS TOGETHER.

The BTL definition of humility, emphasizes the importance of recognizing pride as a significant challenge and actively working to build humility. Humility is described as the ability to be transparent about weaknesses, ask for help, and celebrate the success of others. It involves resisting the urge to compare oneself to others, practicing gratitude, and sharing credit freely. Humility is not about being humbled by external circumstances but rather about cultivating an internal mindset that prioritizes understanding, forgiveness, and truth-telling. It is a journey of self-awareness and growth, requiring courage, discipline, and the willingness to change.
