Last night I deleted a former clients Evernote notebook. Was holding on to the memories. Maybe in some weird way hoping they were coming back.
You see, no matter how much you try, you cannot help but emotionally connect wth your clients. You care. They care too, just not as much. Been ghosted by dudes I brought back from the grave. Been told BTL is too expensive as they fly away on private jets. Been smiled at and stabbed in the back. NIL > BTL. This has been one of the hardest pills to swallow. I work with college teams as a way of giving back. Given the Heisman after years of transformation. I could go on. I’ll stop. I’ve likely done similar to some of you, maybe worse.
Here’s the hard truth.
Death and taxes are not the only absolutes. Betrayal. Worse than death. Lead anything? Count on it. You, leader are going to be taken for granted, forgotten, and all with smiles, handshakes, and all kinds of bullshit. Your job? Your response?
Lead anyway. Love harder. And, know when it’s time to let go. Know when it’s healthy to delete. Make peace with your place. Simple, not easy. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…

I needed this. Keep writing.
