Not all days are the same. We all know this. The Greeks helped us here. Chronos and Kairos. Chronos is the measurement of time. Kairos is the season of time.
June 24, 1982. Wedding day. Kairos.
September 23, 1984. Jordan is born.
Many more both good and not so good.
August 19, 2026. Not sure. I’m hoping it marks the beginning of a new season of time for my heart. Back on March 23, 2021 it was under attack. Stent in. Heart healed. Fast forward to 2026. Been a tough summer on the bike. Nothing big. Not noticed it anywhere else. Ten days ago hit the wall on a ride. Called Doc Steve. Time to check my heart. The result? AFib.
Today, hopefully, very soon they are going to shock it straight. At least they are going to try. It’s been a long day of waiting at Riverside hospital. Woke up early. Practice with OSU men’s golf team at 7am. Checked into Riverside at 8:25. It’s now 2pm and I’ve had a heart scan and now awaiting a heart shock, called a cardioversion. It might work for a minute, an hour, day, week, month, or even year. We won’t know until we know. So I’m waiting. Doing nothing. Just sitting. Waiting.
Ever notice the chronometer seems to move slower when the kairos season is heart attacking instead of heart filling? Remember, friend, to measure your days. Make them count. This is the point of becoming CORE centered and OPUS focused.
Slow down. Reflect. Create more Kairos moments that fill your heart. Kinda helps the medicine go down, you know, when time is not so kind. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…

Prayers up for you, Chet!
I LOVE YOU!

You are in good hands, old warrior.
Covering you in much prayer, Chet! Thank you for not toughing it out. I’m learning, the hard way.
