Involve me…

Roughly 30% of the world’s population is under the age of 15.  These people have only known a “connected world.”  They will grow up talking, texting, and, more importantly, connecting with their peers around the world.  They will play games together and form partnerships with peers that don’t live down the street, go to their school, play on their baseball team, or ride on their bus.  When they enter the world of work in the coming decade or two, they will come into your system expecting to participate.

Do not miss this.  They expect to participate.

Will your system be ready?

Will your team be attractive?

Will your leaders speak their language, the language of don’t tell me; involve me?

The connected world is coming to your world of work.  The best preparation for todays leader is to start giving up more control now.  Start asking more questions, start asking the front line leaders to make more decisions, start ripping apart the pyramid structures, and start more experiments with the good ideas that your teams are turning up.

The connected world will be more creative and chaotic.  Very cool, as long as you’re ready…
