Re-solve the root problem…

Happy New Year, my friend. I hope you had a uneventful celebration last night. Yes, I’m old and enjoyed time alone with my Miss. Tay came back home just in time to celebrate the New Year. Krits returned a bit later but curled in with us none the less.

Again, this morning is quiet, thoughtful, and the chance for another beginning of sorts. Today, around this great country of ours, folks are awaking with themselves and their NEW year resolutions. The problem is that the two are NOT one.

Fact. The number one resolution year after year in America is to lose weight. Fact. We are getting fatter and have been for awhile. The problem is that the two are NOT one. Fact. We are obsessed with losing shit when we need to build some…

Want more resolve? Build your interior space, your CORE. Over time and through adversity you will gain clarity of who you really are, what you deeply believe, where you’re going with a sense of purpose, and slowly you will begin to align your behaviors with your beliefs. Aligning behaviors with beliefs is what creates resolve.

First, you have to do the REAL, HARD, WORK, to author your own worldview. STOP focusing on fixing your behaviors, first. Aligning behaviors with beliefs begins with deep clarity around beliefs. This clarity will only arrive after a ton of rinsing and repeating. You will have to write and write some more. You will have to think about lots of big questions that you’ve previously brushed aside. You will have to argue with yourself and even with some strong others. You will have to invest a bunch of time where Y.O.U. are alone and uncomfortable. You will have to go quietly to your room alone. You will have to face the depressing facts that stand in your way. You will get to the root of what is weighing you down. Once your hard fought clarity comes, your CORE will carry you to the gym, the office, the home, the Church, or wherever Y.O.U. have decided you’re going. You see, CORE strength is the root of resolve. It just is.

Make 2013 the year you built some. Losing shit is over-rated. Build something that nobody can take. Build your interior space this year. Remember, resolutions stick when you decide to re-solve the root problem…
