The following rant contains language that may be considered graphic and offensive. You’ve been warned and primed…
Socrates, long ago, said “know thyself.” Yesterday, little miss sunshine modified it to “own thyself.” I liked her word change. I connected to her use of language. Yesterday, during the same practice, some other teammates had insights that were freakin’ magic too. However, their insights were wrapped in some coarse language. For many, the message was lost. Sad. True. Reality. Doesn’t have to be…
The biggest problem in the world of problem solving is around identifying our problem to solve. We are NOT wired to do this by default. We are not hard wired to own our own. Way back in the day your survival depended more on other and outer awareness, inner, not so much. Your survival depended on focusing “out there.” The untrained brain gets depressed when it focuses itself on itself. So, by default, your brain focuses on somebody else’s shit. Therein lies the problem. Funny, huh.
Remember, you are wired to see somebody else’s stuff with 20/20 clarity; your own, not so much. STOP this natural habit. Build your second nature. Own your own. Own your junk. Clean your mess. STOP stepping in anothers. Over time and through the successfully solving of your own problems, you will gain energy. Initially this focus will be more depressing. Do it, anyway. Your long term mental health depends on you owning your own and cleaning up your mess – not mine. Getting lost trying to stop me from swearing isn’t your problem to solve, is it. Many, however, are losing my point because of my language.
Mental health 101, remember, is all about focusing your brain. Masters focus on becoming CORE centered and self controlling. Normal humans focus on being self centered and other controlling. You choose. Your choices have consequences. Own thyself. Good one LMS. Own your own.
Now that’s some good shit…

I believe at the heart of self-centered others-controlling is fear/pride which leads to self-protection.
At the heart of core-centered self-controlling is humility/courage which leads to self-differentiation and others-influencing — for the collective good.
Which do you think is more secure? more free? smells more attractive and more authentic?
