Krits, KU, pinstripes, and words matter…

Last night KU put on a clinic. Krits and I talked at halftime and both liked what we had seen. We felt good about KU’s chance to earn a road win in conference – never easy. As the Hawks were putting the finishing touches on a signature win, we spoke again. We love talking Jayhawk basketball pretty much any time.

Last night KU wore throwback jerseys that were really cool. They were pin striped and, according to Krit, the pinstripes were actually words. As we were getting ready to end our call, I mentioned the words were probably some BTL slogan and without missing a beat she said, “someday.” Gotta love the Krit, you know.

Today she emailed me the words on KU’s throwback jerseys. Words matter, don’t they. Enough said. Here it is.

“Pay Heed. The game you love began here. Respect those who came before you. Make their legacy your own. Because destiny favors the dedicated. And rings don’t replace work. In this game you don’t get what you want. You get what you earn. We are Kansas. Together we rise. Rock Chalk Jayhawk.”

Try that one on. Enough said…
