Thank God for the few…

Your problem is you don’t know you are your problem. You blame other people, you blame circumstance, you blame your creator, you blame your siblings, you blame your mother, your father, and your bride. You blame your environment, you blame your boss, you blame your hard wiring, you blame your loss, you blame your teammate, you blame your coach, you blame your boyfriend, you blame your girl, you blame so many for so, so much you can’t see your speck’s grown into your log. You are blind, you see, to the real enemy – your pride.

Today my young client five years in the building, officially left his tidy, comfortable, convenient, little shire of his making. He left his neighborhood. He walked away from victimhood – turned his back on the blame game and showed me in word and deed he’s got it and he’s gone. He is taking responsibility, owning his stuff, and has finally developed the discipline of kicking his own ASS.

Kicking your own does NOT come naturally. Victimhood, however, does. Do you see it?

My young client does. He’s rinsing his worldview like his life depends on it – cause it does, btw. He is authoring OPUS with an aspirational overarching vision, a ripped/real purpose, raw, kinda rugged strategies, and a scorecard that’s significant – if only to him. I can’t wait to see his latest playbook of productive action. Finally, it will be his.

You do not want to hire me. You see, I kick your ASS for as long as it takes you to develop the discipline of kicking your own. Most of you reading this wouldn’t last a NY minute. Thank God for the few. Tomorrow one of the few is taking his team practice to the movies. We’re going to watch “Lone Survivor,” together.

Thank God for the few. And, dear reader, go kick your own…
