Move, my friends…

Today, during practice 88, OG learned the power of broadcasting. I hope the team of fauxteen learned the power of the pen and the power behind keeping the right secrets. I want them to worry less about reputation and looking good. Broadcast your struggle. Ask for help. Chip away at it. You’ll be amazed how much better you feel as you realize you are making progress even though, at the same time, you may realize how far you’ve got to go. The brain loves momentum and movement once it sense you are on your way. Until you move, however, the brain loves the status quo and will tell you to stay put, do nothing, and wait for the answer to appear.

Remember, the survivors of 9/11 whose offices were right below the strike zone waited for six minutes before moving. Three hundred and sixty seconds. They waited. They deliberated. They delayed moving. Finally, they decided to move. These, remember, are the survivors. Want to improve your performance in the face of your overwhelming distressors? STOP waiting. Write. Choose a step forward. Move. You will course correct your way out. Do you see this?

Move, my friends. Move. The enemy is allowing our brain to “freak out,” which for most of us translates into an overwhelming sensation. When overwhelmed, most of us wait. The longer we wait, oftentimes, the more discouraged we become. Move. Momentum favors the one on the move. OG is on the move. She is chipping away at her big software distressor. She is on the move.

How ’bout Y.O.U.?

  1. Action baby! I’m with you Chet. Something magic happens when we decide to move….just one step in the right direction is all it takes sometimes. Great to meet you a couple weeks back.
