Today began with an early rise, some good cafe, a few oats, some time in the scripture, and time alone in my office writing and reflecting on the past weeks. It was good to be quiet, alone in my room.
Late morning found Miss and I listening to Rich Nathan preach it up as usual at The Vineyard Columbus. Of course he taught from The Bible and this week’s topic was around experiencing joy. He challenged us to slow down and reflect on the blessing of this season and the everyday blessings in our lives. He gave us a little Dr. Seligman research on the power of gratitude and encouraged his congregation to take a few moments and reflect on someone they owe a debt of gratitude. Following Seligman’s research, he recommended we write a letter this Christmas season to one such person in our life. Good.
Tonight, I’ve been listening to a variety of Christmas music (Jewel’s the artist on at the moment) and watching Miss create some art in our home. She has made a gallery wall out of our back hallway and it’s beautiful. I’m mesmerized just looking at it. You see, it’s a collection of art from our children and from the places we’ve been as a fam. She is making it just oh,so right. Andrew and Taylor are home for the Holidays but they’ve been out with friends all day. This too makes me happy knowing they are out and about and hanging with friends – blessed. It’s just been me and my Miss, today. Good.
As I type away, Miss is warming up some twice baked potato’s, cooking up salmon, and dressing a salad I put together (I did do something). We’re sharing the last remnants of the wine kman gave us that is labeled appropriately – Chester’s Anvil. Thoughtful and tasty too. Yes, it’s been another slow day and it’s been good. As Rich taught this morn, I’m counting my blessings. I hope you, friend, are too. Good…

Similar day for me…SLOW and with the family. Finished up with Grinch and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. Got beat by my 6 yr. old in memory match. Nice. Blessed….like you.
Enjoy the salmon.
