Run with horses…

Bono said the book titled Run With The Horses, saved his life. So, after watching his interview with the 85 year old author, Eugene Peterson, I went out and acquired an old copy on Amazon. The book is the story of Jeremiah, the Old Testament prophet. You see Jeremiah was getting ready to mail it in out of frustration. He had had enough of the madness. Nobody listened. Nobody heeded his warning. He was done. Another normal Jersusalem statistic he would soon become. Instead of settling, however, he heard God’s call. I’m sure it didn’t sit well, at least at first.

“If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses?” Jeremiah 12:5.

You see, Jeremiah was called to run with horses. He was called to greatness. He was called to excellence. You are too, friend. Do not weary. Don’t worry. Run with horses, friend. You are called to run the race put before you. Embrace the pain and suffering when nobody listens, nobody buys what you’re selling, nobody seems to notice your good work, and nobody seems to care how hard you’re trying or how deeply you’re hurting. God cares. God calls. Run.

Thanks, Bono, for the recommendation. Thanks, Eugene, for the running. Good…
