We now know that jumping from a plyo box is almost always good for your bones, even when we get to an advanced age. Box jumps, done wisely, with good form and in moderation, build a healthy body. Jumping from a five story window is almost never a good idea. Only jump from this height when the room is on fire or some such thing.
Think of risk similarly.
Take more small, routine, calculated jumps, if you will. Stop waiting for the right time to make the really big bet. Rarely works. Oftentimes breaks you and others.
