My back…

Dbow.

I wouldn’t be alive today to think about our fallen comrades had it not been for you.

You had my back – always.

You still do.

I love you, old warrior, old friend.

Who is that dude watching my back as I hunted for IEDs?

Saying “Good-bye” to you after one helluva deployment…thank you Dbow. You did everything a leader could ask for. You were a constant advisor, mentor, and friend not only to me but to my men and the great Afghan warriors we were there to serve. And most importantly, you were the quintessential warrior. And you are still that – to this day.

Thank you for always having my back.

I love you so…and I will never forget.

*Leaders – you had better spend a little time thanking those of your team who you can always count on to watch your back. They are the ones who allow you to push the envelope, to expose your throat and your heart because you know that they will BE WITH you. Without them, things can fall apart relatively quickly.

  1. Brother Rocky!…My heart leapt with joy when I saw this…so good to know you are still out there – doing what you do. The time I spent with men like you out at Sage was among the most precious of my life. Why? Because I got to spend time with the very best our country has to offer. You are one of those, old warrior…! Thank you for taking the time to reach out.

    Strength and Honor (And…Love!)
