38 & 48…

This early am began on the driveway. Core work for 38 minutes. Was sore from a lot of bar work this week – chins, toes, Blondie’s. Good sore. Once the core work was complete, Jmo and Kevin headed out for a walk and Peej, Brother Mick and I saddled up on our ponies. We rode 48 beautiful miles. First time in years I’ve felt a little lactic burn in the tiny twigs. Made me smile as I realized my heart had been stopping me before the legs ever got tired. Heart ablation on September 4th. The ride three weeks prior had me falling off the back and limping home with a HR of 185. Today, even when pulling (Peej pulled 90%) it got up to a very reasonable 140. The average was just over 120. Cruising. The past few years there would be rides where I just didn’t have it. Thought it was just me getting old. It. Was. Not.

It was my heart trying to tell me something’s wrong.

So, friend, if your body is telling you something’s wrong, don’t be a dumbASS like yours truly. Go get checked. I had no idea I was in and out of AFib until getting checked. I’m lucky nothing went horribly wrong. So, if you see me getting dropped on a climb, don’t worry, it’s just the tiny twigs giving out. My heart is back in sinus rhythm. Blessed. Grateful. And, looking forward to going hard. Damn.

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…

That’s Peej on my left. Strong like bull. Brother Mick to my right. He’s saved me more times than I care to think about. Thanks for hanging with my sorriness. We shall ride again soon, The Lord willing…
