Yesterday, Miss and I watched the movie Invicible. Amazing, true, story of Vince Papale and the damn Eagles. I found my sorriness tearing up on multiple occasions watching this film I’ve seen a half dozen times. The older I get the more appreciative of friends I’ve become. Soft, I am. Truth.
Yesterday, Little Little, Blondie, Brother Mick, Guv, Jmo, Peej, and I rode 51 miles around central ohio. Sure, it was a good workout. We rode hard just dying to stay on Peej’s wheel. The magic was in the chatter, the laughter, the trash talking, and the real sharing of each others pain. I look forward to Saturday’s like this. These friends not only make me better, they make me realize there’s not much better than the camaraderie of suffering. Hearts are broken and bonded (sometimes forever) here.
The BTL band are friends. Clients are friends. Family are friends, precious friends in fact. My mom is my friend. As I’m writing this, I can hardly wait for our virtual Church service together, me and mom. It’s become our Sunday ritual. Sacred.
Whatever your position, someday, you’re not gonna need more. There will come a time when you’ll simply want a friend. My advice?
Be ONE.
Live hard. Love harder. Become invincible…
