This past week I asked a team of golfers, Lax dudes, and grapplers if they knew the most frequent command in The Bible. They did.
Fear NOT.
It is great to know this. It’s quite another thing to live this. Here’s what I told them. Fear NOT, is not a suggestion. It’s not a statement. It is much more.
It’s a command.
God commands you and I to fear not because He knows we are, by our very nature, filled with it. Too many athletes, artists, and entrepreneurs make suggestions to their mind. This does not change the mind. Fact. Champions command the mind. Champions stop the negative inner chatter and command the mind to do what they know it can, even before they have behaved accordingly. Champions have a simple formula.
Belief > behavior.
This is why they start stuff others only dream about. This is why they finish shots others can’t imagine. This is why they build things others wish they had built. This is why they don’t get derailed when they have a bad day, shot, or get the shit kicked out of them. They chalk it up to learning. Laugh. Dust themselves off. And prepare for the next round. They tell themselves they can’t wait to get back after it. So, they, in fact do. You see, their belief is BIGr than their behavior. This is the belief that allows you to level up after a loss. This is HUGE!
Champions have the same fears you and I do. Again, the key? Faith > Fear. Are you getting this?
Champions command the mind to override the governor and unleash their potential. They command the mind. Normal dudes? Behavior > Belief. Don’t be normal, friend. Damn.
Live hard. Love harder…
