Today, Mom and I celebrated our time together listening to Pastor Andy teach us how to respond in any crisis. Let me give you the melody line.
Seek the Lord. Obey the Lord. Glorify the Lord.
He told the story of ancient Israel and one of many crisis King David led his people through. You could say his reign was leading through one crisis and then another. Not much has changed, huh, leader. At the end of our time together we did not pray as we usually do. Mom had fallen asleep. I’m praying she just fell asleep and will wake up soon. She’s 101 and is winding down. I’m only 67. Truth is we’re all winding down, regardless our number. Fact.
Whatever crisis you’re facing today, remember these questions. Whose council are you seeking? Are you obedient or obstinate when given a good (hard) word? Whom do you thank when the crisis is weathered? God, help me remember whose I am. God, help me weather today’s storms and not allow my mind to wander about what if’s beyond my very limited control. God, help me. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…

Mom awoke. We prayed together. Grateful. Amen.

Love you so, dear Aunt Marie. Truly. Truly. Truly.
