We have to suffer shipwreck to learn how to become Captains of ourselves. We are all a perfect mess. God designed us so. Study human history. Shipwrecks actually allow us to become whole. When wrecked we realize our holes cannot be made whole on our own. No wreck? We slowing leak and imperceptibly sink. Wreck? We can’t ignore the gaping hole. We feel ourselves sinking and, in fact, feel like we’re drowning. So, we ACT. The wreck actually saves our sorriness.
God, help me feel the hole. God, help me allow your Spirit to Awaken, Challenge, and Transform me. From hole to whole. Damn.
