Most of us are following bullshit influencers. Chasing after what’s popular and what gets us more “likes.” We’ve bought the bullshit of show the world only the best of you. Protect your brand at all costs. Filter the truth. Hide your flaws. Only show the world what the world wants. Wear the right mask for the situation. Exhausting. Anxiety producing. Inauthentic. Fear based living.
Here’s truth. Freedom comes when you don’t have anything to hide. Keep the right secrets. Simple, not easy. Had a hurting client in practice with me yesterday. Told him some shitty truth about myself. He was shocked. It was real. Nothing I’m proud of. It set him free. He thought his Builder was a badASS. Truth is I’m more dumbASS. Forever a WIP (work in process). Slowly aligning behaviors and beliefs. Slowly closing integrity gaps. Slowly getting the courage to habituate the mirror and stop the incessant look out the window of comparison. Damn.
